Liberty Wellness and Chiro: A Home Away From Home

Before I began working at Liberty Wellness and Chiro, I experienced chronic pain from scoliosis on a daily basis. Every stretch, every seat, every standing position was a struggle. Even though a full seven years had passed since I had gotten my spinal fusion surgery, in which rods and screws were inserted into my spine and my muscles were cut to make way for my new cyborg-esque parts, my body just was not healed yet.

I had begun to accept that my life would be painful, or at least my physical existence within my body would. But of course, our bodies, minds and spirits are aligned, so it was not just as simple as that. I was struggling from depression and anxiety, from lethargy. I did not leave my apartment much due to the pain I was in both physically and mentally. However, my friend Jenna was just not having that for me. She had just moved down to Wall Street and had come across Liberty Wellness through Google Maps, and practically pulled me out of bed to go to a session. It was worth a shot, she said. So I went, and subsequently began my journey of self-discovery, healing and spiritual fulfillment.

When I first walked into the office, I was welcomed by two lovely women, Gabby and Stacey, smiles wide and laughs humble and bright. I felt right at home. Strange, I thought. This place did not feel like a doctor’s office at all; the walls were of a warm cream color, the couches were cozy, the water cold and crisp, the ambiance (yes, I did just say ambiance in reference to a doctor’s office) soothing and warm. I felt at home. Liberty Wellness truly is a home for all: everyone who walks through its doors can feel the energy I did, or so I have heard throughout my time as a member of the LWC team so far.

During my first chiropractic and physical therapy session, which I took consecutively as to speed along my recovery process, I was surprised by Dr. Cotter and Dr. Mehta’s willingness to explain every detail of the consultation regardless of timeliness. There is no rush here — after all, our patients are a part of the LWC family, not walking dollar signs. Sounds too good to be true? Come on in and see for yourself. Hope to see you soon!
